EAO has been awarded a bronze medal by EcoVadis.

The 2025 Sustainability Report explains what this entails.

In 2025, EAO was awarded a bronze medal by EcoVadis, placing it amongst the top 35 per cent of companies assessed worldwide in terms of sustainability. EcoVadis is one of the world’s leading platforms for sustainability assessments. Over 130,000 companies in more than 175 countries are assessed annually on how they treat the environment, people and business partners. This makes the results comparable across sectors and worldwide.

The 2025 Sustainability Report details the reasons behind this award. For the second time, EAO has presented a comprehensive report, structured in accordance with the guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), a globally recognised standard for sustainability reporting. The focus is on four areas: governance, market, workplace and environment.

Measurable improvements.

At the Olten headquarters, waste per employee has fallen by over ten per cent. Disposable cups have been phased out and employees receive vouchers for public transport. In procurement, the quantities of precious metals used in contact components are gradually decreasing. Another new development is that EAO now calculates the carbon footprint of individual products, enabling customers to incorporate this data into their own sustainability assessments. All four EcoVadis assessment areas have improved compared with the previous year, with the greatest improvement seen in sustainable procurement. Following the decline in 2024, this represents a clear reversal of the trend.
