15W Version – for faster charging.

The round tabletop chargers from EAO are now available with an increased power output of 15W. The table mounted chargers are either sub-mounted under the decorative surface of the table or mounted from the top using the Surface Mount Adaptor. The increased charging power of 15W provides fast inductive charging of mobile phones. When used in conjunction with a status PCB, the 15W single coil charger also powers LEDs for indication, providing three status outputs. These indicate when the charger is ready, when a device is charging or if there is any foreign object detected which would prevent the charging process.

This new 15 W version of the tabletop charger is also available with a magnetic locating ring (MLR) – to firmly hold and precisely locate a compatible phone on the charger. The magnetic locating ring optimises the wireless coupling for more efficient and faster charging.

New USB-C PD & PPS Power Supply and USB-C sockets.

Most modern laptops, tablets and other portable devices now use USB-C, influenced in part by the EU Common Charger Directive, due to its ability to automatically charge at a range of voltages from 5V to 20V and at higher powers when combined with the right power supply. EAO’s newest product in the range of charging solutions is the USB-C PPS (programmable power supply) and PD (Power Delivery 3.0) power supply. With its high 60W power output, the power supply is ideal for economic and efficient charging of both phones and standard laptops.

PPS's main advantages over other charging standards are its ability to change the charging output voltage to seamlessly switch from charging a phone using 5V to charging laptops at the higher voltages they need typically 15V to 20V. PPS also lowers power conversion loss during charging. This means that less heat is generated, which not only lengthens the device battery's lifespan but shortens the required charging time leading to lower power consumption of the PSU. The PPS power supply can be mounted remotely to the EAO power delivery USB-C sockets which, in turn, can be mounted on seatbacks, between seats or wherever 230 VAC outlets have been previously installed. The USB-C sockets and PPS Power Supply, just like our other products from the charging solution range, can be retrofitted during refurbishment, integrated into a train as a separate upgrade or included in new train designs.

The USB-C sockets come as 30.5mm single or dual mounting units, ideal for inclusion onto cab desks or seat structures. However, the design of these sockets mean that fully customised mounting solutions are possible, allowing integration into many areas of the existing train architecture.

With EAO’s USB-C PPS enabled sockets, passengers no longer need a plug-in power adaptor for their phone or laptop. All they need is their USB-C cable.
