Grayhill have launched a range of tough, rubberised keypad interfaces for rugged vehicles which offer easy integration through CAN-bus using the J1939 protocol.
They are available in the UK through EAO – the expert partner for Human Machine Interfaces.

The 3K Series CAN-bus Keypads are some of the newest vehicle user interface on the market. They are designed as a single solution to replace rows of rocker and toggle switches with a single integrated electronic device. Further, the compact format and sealed design (IP67) make them ideal for off-road vehicles which will be exposed to weather, dirt and vibration – agricultural vehicles, military applications, construction vehicles and trucks.
The standard sizes available are 4x5, 3x5, 4x3, 4x2 and 2x4 key configurations. These configurations are available with standard keytop legends, although custom legends can be created for specific applications (charges apply). Each legend can be illuminated with three bars to show status (e.g. fan - slow, medium, high). Backlight illumination can stepped up and down for different ambient conditions.
This latest device is part of a range of in-cab controls, which also include multifunction joysticks and displays designed for off-road commercial vehicles.
